Analysis of potential profiles and influencing factors of existential distress in patients with gynecological malignant tumors

Analysis of potential profiles and influencing factors of existential distress in patients with gynecological malignant tumors

Abstract

Objective To explore the potential profiles and influencing factors of existential distress in patients with gynecological malignant tumors, and to analyze the relationship between different potential profiles and the level of hope. Method By using the convenience sampling method, patients with gynecological malignant tumors who were treated in our hospital from January 2024 to December 2024 were selected as the survey subjects, and relevant scales were measured for them. Potential profile analysis, influencing factor analysis and analysis of variance were used for statistical tests. Result It showed that among 224 patients with gynecological malignant tumors, the pain score was (26.12±5.33) points and the hope level score was (29.56±4.13) points. The existential pain of patients with gynecological malignant tumors can be divided into three potential profiles: the high existential pain group, the medium existential pain group and the low existential pain group. The average attribution probability of each category of gynecological malignant tumor patients belonging to each potential profile ranges from 97.5% to 98.4%. There were significant differences among the three category groups in terms of age (χ2=11.816, P=0.019), tumor stage (χ2=9.853, P=0.043), disease duration (χ2=21.815, P<0.001), and self-assessed social support (χ2=13.528, P=0.019). Logistic regression analysis showed that age, tumor stage, disease duration and self-rated social support became the influencing factors for the existence of pain (P<0.05). The hope level of patients in the high presence of pain group was significantly lower than that in the medium presence of pain group (P<0.01) and significantly lower than that in the low presence of pain group (P<0.01). The hope level of patients in the medium presence of pain group was significantly lower than that in the low presence of pain group (P<0.01). Conclusion The existential distress of patients with gynecological malignant tumors is divided into three subgroups: the high existential distress group, the medium existential distress group and the low existential distress group. Clinical staff should identify the characteristics of different types of patients, actively adopt coping measures for the high-risk population in the high existential distress group, minimize their levels of helplessness and despair as much as possible, and increase the patients' hope level. This is of great significance for improving their treatment compliance and prognosis.
